An ordinary life....

Tree-mendous!

See what I did there? :-))

Woke this morning to the first dawn chorus of spring. Such a wonderful sound.

Ele and Kenny were supposed to come up today but Ele wasn’t well overnight so they cancelled. Second time this week friends haven’t been able to visit. I must change my deodorant!

Had beef stew bubbling in the slow cooker by midday when D suggested we go to Broadslap Farm for lunch. It was a yes from me!

Baked potato with coronation chicken and salad for me. Roasted tomato soup with a cheese scone for D. I don’t get the scone with soup thing, even though it’s a savoury scone. Needs to be crusty bread for me. Regardless, it was all lovely.

Back home to discover the merino wool I ordered for my friend’s grandchild’s pram blanket had arrived. This yarn comes highly recommended by Withers and I’ve been dying to try it and I can tell you, it didn’t disappoint! An absolute dream to use. Unfortunately the blanket pattern calls for a starting chain of 99 stitches and despite two attempts and counting my stitches religiously, by the third row my stitch count was out each time. I shouldn’t have started as I was tired to begin with, so I put it aside and I’ll start afresh when my mind is more alert.

Roast chicken for dinner. Guess what soup we’ll be having in the next couple of days? :-))

Chilled evening where I continued crocheting Jen’s chunky blanket. It’s a very easy pattern, only one brain cell required. She got her mortgage approved today so can conclude her purchase of the flat. So excited for her! Hope her entry date will be soon.

Exciting times :-))
