The Star Coat
One thing a reasonably mild case of Covid did was give me time to finish the coat, although I really didn't feel much like doing anything the first week. Now that I'm feeling better, the coat is finished and I've gone back to the striped sweater I've been working on for four years. I'm not going to start anything new until I finish it!
I was working on it today, sitting on the new $100 chair that has replaced the Peloton with the knitting basket at my feet. It isn't clear that I'm going to have enough yarn to finish it so I've been saving every loose end and scrap. Spike was on the floor next to the chair when it suddenly dawned on me that he was not chewing on his Kong. Further investigation revealed that he had nabbed one of the balls of yarn from the knitting basket and was happily chewing away on it.
It's been a day of spectacularly changing weather. Coudless blue skies, building fluffy white cumulus clouds shifting and changing during the day turning quite dark by afternoon. Now the sun is back shining underneath the clouds and highlighting all the weeds that are coming up in the garden outside the window. John is working to get the raised beds ready for planting the spring seeds for cucumber, beans, squash and lettuce followed by tomato starts from our friend Tobi. Nobody can do better than she can!
We have no trouble getting eggs because we have several friends who have chickens but now I have to go and figure out what to do with them!
Wine first, though.
