Another Day

By BlackTulip

Not what we need

We have two bird feeder poles, one near the kitchen window with a baffle to keep off the squirrels, which has to be positioned very carefully to discourage world champion long jumpers.

The other pole is tucked in amongst some foliage to provide the birds with protection against the sparrowhawk, and is a squirrel-proof feeder, except it isn't.  Small squirrels have no trouble getting inside, and nor did this unexpected morning visitor.  Ratty.

I have moved the pole down the garden and is no longer in use until I find a more suitable feeder, probably one of the weighted ones.

It's been another fantastic blue-sky day, with a bit more gardening this morning and this afternoon I've edged the grass around the patio.  It's a tough job because the soil seems to grow over the winter and butts up against the patio and I have to cut it all away.
