Another Day

Honey Bee

Chris Shepherd gave a wonderful talk on London last night, and as he works in the city he is able to go out with his camera in his lunch breaks.  He has a great sense of humour, right up my street, and the talk told us the best buildings to visit for the best vantage points, who charges and who doesn't, and where to buy drinks and where not to.

He also photographs people and has his camera ready to take the shot, thus avoiding people getting narky.  If they walk into shot they very often apologise, but you've got the picture you want.  I've found that.

One interesting point, when photographing buildings close up, make sure you are on the public side of the brass studs in the pavement.  If you are inside then a security guard has the right to move you on.  I didn't know that.

A busy day in the garden and clearing lime tree twigs away from the trees over the fence and onto the large pile, ready to move to the rubbish area.  That'll be a big job.

Ladybirds are around but I wanted a record shot of this little honey bee.  It isn't as sharp as I'd have liked it but it didn't hang around.

One of our club members has a pilot's licence and I'm on his waiting list for a flight in a Cessna, which carries three passengers.  That'll be fun and only £20.

It’s St Piran’s Day today.
