Art Journal

This is week 9 of Wanderlust, a year long online Art Journal course I'm taking with Everything Art UK. It felt so good to be back to creating. This lesson focused on using vintage papers and honoring someone or something from the past...  I decided to honor my dad.. 

I used papers pulled from an old ledger belonging E.T. Andrews & Co Investments. My great grandfather founded it and my grandfather and dad continued to grow the business. As a girl, I sometimes visited the office after school and was kept busy with tasks like adding stamps to envelopes! I also used a postcard dad sent and various copies of photos of him over the course of his life. He passed in 2011. We moved from CT to Florida in 2009 after dad got a cancer diagnosis. I have especially missed him recently because of mom's illness, even though he is still close at heart. 

I've added some process photos of the pages to the extra photos. The photo of Dad with the heart drawn around it was taken during Steve's and my Wedding Ceremony in 2005. Seeing how happy Dad is always brings a smile out.
