Strange Weather

We were expecting cyclonic winds and rain by now, as Tropical Cyclone Alfred approaches Brisbane. But my top photo tonight shows a less-threatening sky than I put up for last night’s blip. The bottom right wind-strength prediction graph shows that we’re currently getting winds of 10 km/hr whereas, top line, the forecast was for 60 km/hr. And, bottom left, the rainfall radar image doesn’t show the classic cyclonic cloud pattern I would expect.

This afternoon, Singapore Airlines advised that our flight out of Brisbane tomorrow morning is ‘on schedule’, despite the threatening weather. We’re impressed, but still a little uneasy.

Many thanks for the ‘travel safely’ wishes yesterday. This trip is to Thailand and Vietnam, for 3 weeks. I hope to keep blipping during that time.
