Small Tortoiseshell

I managed a short walk around the garden at lunchtime before retreating back to my bed. I was surprised to see a Small Tortoiseshell this early in the year. Checking with my records going back more than twenty years, this is the earliest I've seen one (although I see one was recorded in Cornwall in mid January).
