Myrtle has come indoors from the rain. She does not like being damp. We are having the first decent rain for weeks following thunder and lightning earlier this afternoon. Last month was particularly dry with only 13.5mm of rain in the rain gauge for the whole four weeks. There are drought conditions in some parts of the country. The Wither Hills Farm Park to the south of Blenheim is closed to the public due to high fire risk. This rain may ease the fire risk here in Marlborough.
