Signing out!
My last day today. The cases are packed, unpacked, repacked and packed again! Liquid bag organised, electrics all charged and in one place, passport in bag, checked in, online boarding pass (they won't let you into the airport if you can't prove you have a booking), headaches pills etc in hand luggage, travel clothes organised so I can add layers as I go. I'm bound to have forgotten to do something. Never mind.
I've had a quiet day, it's too hot to do much else today, 32° and feels like 38° apparently. The tide is really high, I haven't seen it like that at this time of year before, probably down to the storms. The weather has changed thank goodness so clear skies tonight.
The collage today has the view from the German Bakery. When I was in India for 6 months in 2007 I treated myself to a weekend in Kovalam once a month or so and the Bakery was a godsend as they had a second hand book exchange/shop. A Cursillo friend sent me a shoebox full of books too from Edinburgh charity shops every so often too and between them they kept me going.
The lush greenery is the area behind the Bakery, they now have their own small hotel. I've never been in but it looks very nice - they have some rooms along the seafront too which are more basic but very popular. Me - I like my AC these days.
The final shot is one of the fishing boats. Once it is already to go out to sea again, it is all covered up and men spend the day beside it to make sure nothing happens to it. I presume, but I may be wrong, that those men don't go out to sea having spent the day sleeping on the sand. Hopefully they are part of the shore crew. The fishermen here are all part of a cooperative, so support each other well.
I may add a second collage later, if so I'll mention it tomorrow. Thanks for all the good wishes for my travel and lovely comments on my blips. I'm looking forward to being home now. Taxi is coming in 7 hours and this time tomorrow I'll be landing in Edinburgh. I'll need to learn to stop speaking Indian English, lol.
