Pouring On The Steam
The first of three consecutive sea days as we make our way from Port Louis in Mauritius to Durban in South Africa.
While we were on safari, there was a massive cyclone which hit pretty much where our ship was scheduled to make port. Both the airport and the port were closed, and the ship went back out to sea to wait out the storm 50 miles from shore. Yesterday, the port reopened, and we managed to be reunited with our floating home in the evening.
The captain delayed our departure last night as he waited for our flight to arrive, meaning that we are now behind schedule for the next turn around. Therefore we have been steaming at a greatly increased rate of knots in order to make up for lost time!
