Sprung

What a glorious day of sunshine and clear blue skies. I feel like the nation is collectively restored.

I wasn’t looking forward to a 14 mile training run today after a busy week with more late nights than I’m used to. But I had company in the form of Ali, who took us on a lovely route up to Lyth Hill and we had so much to catch up on that the time flew by. The sunshine helped too, of course.

Got home to freshly baked bread for lunch and then mowed the lawn (because how could you not, on a day like today).

Rode my bike into town later for a drink by the river in the sunshine. It felt so glorious to be on the bike in the sunshine. It’s a sure sign of SAD to feel like an entirely different person on a day like today. I feel like I owe the world a massive apology for being a grumpy bum for the last few months.

And to top it off, it’s been nice to feel proud of being a European again today, seeing our leaders gather together in solidarity after the utterly disgraceful behaviour shown in the White House.

A good day.
