Hail to thee!

No 26 bus out to Levenhalll, then a walk back to Musselburgh via the sea wall, the scrapes, and the bank of the Esk. Lots of birds to admire, but favourite of course was the skylark doing the proper ascending-to-a-great-height-and-gie'in-it-laldie thing.

Extras:
1) redstart and oystercatcher rummaging for snacks.
2) big Fife sky
3) big East Lothian sky
4) collage of curiousities: shiny metal feather on a rock, East Lothian council announcing that they are Advancing to a Preliminary Decision, a bed of decorative brassicas in Musselburgh amazingly unravaged by fat bastards, and finally the wonderful Staggs pub where we had a delicious pint of Jarl before heading back on a no 44.
