Day 45
Day 45.
With all the goings on in the world, it can be a challenge to find something to be grateful for. But, this is exactly the reason I decided to come up with this challenge; for days when the world seems a bleak place.
And today, it worked. Despite an increasingly frightening world, there was camaraderie and community as Kinross Rugby Club played Falkirk RFC. Calum came out of retirement to fulfil a desire to play with his wee brother Lewis and his dad in the purple of Kinross. All 3 of them have played with one of the three, but all three have never been on the pitch at the same time (thanks concussions, neck injuries, shoulder injuries et al!) It was touch and go as Lewis was carted off early in the first half with an ankle injury. After ice and rest, he got himself mobile and, thanks to the coaching team's recognition of the importance of today, the red scrum cap and the orange scrum cap joined the black scrum cap on the field. The result was immaterial. I'm just grateful that our local team has such a big heart and such a sense of community. Thanks to Leanne, Georgia and Niamh for the sideline support - and the nursing skills pitchside!
I managed a 2.5 mile walk this morning and probably another 1.5 miles walking around the pitch (forgot to turn of my tracker so it says 29 miles!!
