1102 day of war

Hello, friends!

The past week has been very stressful. Nastya has been feeling unwell, something with her stomach. We went to the hospital, did some tests, but still couldn’t figure out what exactly happened. She has been taking medication this week, and it has helped, but we were quite worried about it.
Right now, the atmosphere in the country is tense, and we see what’s happening in the world. Maybe stress is making things worse and causing physical pain. We eat the same food, yet I haven’t had any similar issues.

There have been fewer missile attacks lately, but every night, a huge number of drones are launched. Previously, 100 drones in one night was considered a large-scale attack, but in the past week, they’ve been sending 150-170 drones per night consistently, which keeps us on edge. After the last incident, when a drone hit just across the street from our home, we’ve been more anxious and now get up at night during air raids. However, what worries us the most right now is the situation with international affairs.

Honestly, I still don’t understand the essence of this mineral resources deal. It’s being presented as a necessity to end the war, but to me, it feels like selling thin air. No one has real data on these resources, and most of what was being mined in the country is now on occupied territories. Even if we assume everything goes as they want, developing these resources would require the war to end first and years to build infrastructure.

Yesterday’s meeting between Zelensky and Trump seemed like it should have led to something, but in reality, it looked terrible and only seemed to escalate tensions.
Even if these negotiations turn out to be a complete disaster for us, I feel that Zelensky had no other choice. He held up well under immense pressure and criticism. After these talks, I got the impression that this was all planned in advance. Earlier, Trump had said that Zelensky should hold elections in Ukraine, likely hoping for someone else to take power—someone who would sign any deals without resistance. This kind of conflict now gives Trump an opportunity to claim that Zelensky doesn’t want peace or negotiations. But inside the country, and for many people around the world, the reality is clear. With these accusations, Trump is trying to cover up the fact that he cannot negotiate with Putin and has no leverage over him, so he shifts the responsibility onto others.

Our country has already had many agreements that turned out to be empty promises. The Budapest Memorandum on nuclear non-proliferation, the Minsk agreements with Russia—all of them ended in nothing. We fulfilled all the conditions, and in the end, we still ended up in a full-scale war but in a much weaker position to defend ourselves. I think the only thing we wanted to hear from Trump yesterday was that America stands with us. That we won’t be left alone against Putin, who will systematically destroy us until nothing remains of our country and our people. But instead, we only heard baseless accusations and Russian propaganda.

I’ve seen that many countries still support us, even now, and I’m grateful for that. Thank you! Things may not be going as well as we’d like, but I believe we’re on the right side of history and doing the right thing. I believe we will endure.
Also, thank you to everyone supporting us on BuyMeACoffee it helps a lot.
