Woke up to a heavy mist but it soon cleared into a beautiful spring day. Drove down the M1 to Crick to meet A for brunch. We had been there for about 40 minutes and our food was just arriving when A got a phone call from her husband to say that their labrador had eaten some rat poison and they were on their way to the vet. She was upset and went off straight away to be with them so I was left with two brunches ( only ate mine! ) and an hour to kill before my financial advisor arrived. I had another coffee and played online Bridge - fortunately she was on time. My annual review went well and I was on the road home by 2.30. Called in at the supermarket and had time to feed the cats and freshen up before going into town to see ‘Girls and Boys’ at the Playhouse with LE. It has had brilliant reviews so I was really looking forward to it and I wasn't disappointed. It was excellent- a one woman play acted by Aisling Loftus, a Nottingham native. Was home by 10 but had a dreadful night’s sleep again- still awake at 2am
