Bàgh an Inbhire

Fortified by yet another cooked breakfast, we headed along the North Road, parked, then made our way along the trail to Dùn Caan, which is the highest point on Raasay.

The path at times was more like a stream but it was great being out on the moors with wonderful views back to Skye - both the Cuillin and Trotternish - we could just about make out the Old Man.

My acrophobia kicked in so we stopped at the lochans just before the final ascent and retraced our steps.

We then headed further north, parked, and made our way done through a steepish wooded gorge to the beach.  It was a complete contrast to our earlier walk - the trees felt really old and other worldly.

We spent some time exploring the beach - some really interesting stones & caves - before retracing our steps.

Back at our hotel we visited Taigh nan Cearcan, a hut selling crafts made locally. I bought fingerless mittens and T got a slate painting. We then went along to Talla Ratharsair where a Macmillan Coffee Afternoon was taking place. Lots of tasty baked goods.

The second extra shows the view from our room as the sun sets behind a tree (included for Joe  Tree Day with thanks for the wonderful community which is Blip).

Now resting and enjoying view from room.
