London

I took a trip into London today with the primary aim of visiting the Natural History Exhibition which is currently holding an exhibition of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2024.

I caught the first off-peak train into Waterloo and walked along the embankment and across London Bridge to Westminster before taking he tube to South Kensington, home of the major London Museums set up by the Victorians.

I normally go to The Base in Greenham Common to see the exhibition (I may go again later in the year!), but think the display at the Natural History Museum takes it to another level, and the photography was amazing.  I don't think I've been to the museum since school so also enjoyed a good stoll round.

Afterwards I walk through Kensington Gardens doing the to"touristy thing" by taking in the Royal Albert Hall and Albert Memorial before catching the tube back to Westminster and walking back to Waterloo for my train home, this time along the Victoria Embankment and across one of  the Golden Jubilee footbridges alongside Hungerford Railway Bridge - a new one to me as I didn't even know they existed having only used the original footpath on the railway bridge before.

The extra shows a classic view from the Golden Jubilee Bridge towards Westminster with the London Eye and Houses of Parliament.  My main is a hazy river view towards Vauxhall from London Bridge, and was one of my first shots of what turned out to be an extremely enjoyable day out..
