Beacon Hill

We walked up onto Beacon Hill (Orton) last night for sunset, this is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park which is a dark sky area. (Although in YDNP it is still in Cumbria - bit weird)
The idea was to see the planet alignment which was best in the hour after sunset.
As the sun went down this was the view to the west over shap and out towards the lakes eastern fells. I liked the soft layers of hills and clouds and the trees in the mid ground.
We hung around for about 90mins until cold toes said no more.
We could clearly see Mars, Jupiter, Venus and Mercury and probably 20 starlink satellites zooming over.
