We are All Family!!
Last day for me before I am tracked back to Seattle! We were saying our goodbyes as Goose--Staci was on her way early to work.
After dropping her off Martin and I had a lovely walk around Tulitin park lake which is right by their apt.
He and I then saw the intense and powerful movie Fruitvale Station. It is based on a true story of a young Oakland man shot down in the prime of his life. It is so timely seeing this now because of the recent Trevon Martin verdict that came out. This young Oakland man was only 22 years old. In the bart altercation he was unarmed---shot in the back and killed by the station police. The cop said he meant to taser him and pulled his gun instead. Many witnesses used cameras to film it. This young man was no angel, but he was getting his life back together and raising his lovely little girl and very family orientated. Another tragic and unnecessary violent death. Another young Black man shot down because of all to prevalent profiling and stereotyping and fears and deep rooted racism. We ALL have a LONG way to go to rid our society of racial strife. We need to remember that indeed we are ALL Family in the end.
