Andrew and Trixie

Monday
We had a good flight, and I think I even managed to get a bit of sleep!
After being in a holding pattern over London for about 10 minutes, we finally landed about 8.30. Unfortunately we had to wait to be bussed to immigration, so disembarking took a while. However, we went straight through immigration, and found our way to the rental car bus, and were soon on our way. We’re spending the first few days with my sister in the Gloucester area, but today we were stopping en route to visit with Roger’s sister Pamela, who lives near Marlborough, and stop for lunch. Her husband Mike was out playing bridge. After a nice lunch and catch up, we continued on to my sister’s, where we received a very enthusiastic welcome from Janet’s dog Trixie! Janet’s son Andrew was also there, having a drink of tea before going on to play 5 a side football. He reappeared later in the evening to have dinner. We’d already eaten, but Janet had left some for him, so we had a bit more time together. We will see him again at the funeral
