Double Heron Bed

I wasn’t expecting to see two in the nest when I visited a heronry that I hadn’t seen before till this morning. At this time of year the female generally stays and builds the nest with sticks that the male brings. I guess he was having a rest.

Thanks for yesterday’s many Grebe gifts, spring is definitely here for the bird world.
