The garden with blue sky.
The Feast Day of Saint Gabriel Possenti. Also known as St Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows. Patron saint of students, seminarians, and people suffering from ruptures.
His Feast Day used to be on 31st May,Mother Mary's month in the Catholic Church Calendar and so far, I have no information on why it was changed to 27th February, except for the fact this date, 27th February, was his death day in 1862. He was born on 1st March in 1838 in Assisi, Italy. He was strongly ensnared by the world as a youth and was a socially engaged man. Then after illnesses and nearly being shot while hunting, he gave his life to God by joining the Passionists, an Italian contemplative and missionary congregation founded in 1720 by St. Paul of the Cross. He was greatly respected by his fellow monks, beinga studious novitiate and devoted to Our Lady of Sorrows. He sadly died, age 24 years old from tuberculosis.he was canonised in 1920.
We are being blessed with wonderful sunshine and a lovely blue sky, as seen in today's photo.
I hope you are enjoying a lovely Thursday too blip friends.
Thank you for the stars yesterday.
