The Feast Day of Saint Porphyry. He lived for five years from the age of 25, as a monk in the Egyptian desert. He received a miraculous cure from Christ Jesus, for a serious illness he was suffering. In 393 he was ordained a priest. He was instrumental in expelling, as well as converting, pagans in Gaza in his lifetime.
The Feast Day of Saint Isabelle of France. Born March 1225. Died February 23rd 1270. As a young girl she was remembered for her fervent prayers and fasting.
She would often invite the poor to dinner and serve them before herself. In the evening time she would visit the poor and the suffering.
She is the Patron Saint of the sick. Canonised in 1696.
Today has been pleasant. I went out to Best One shop for our copy of The People's Friend. Then I delivered a copy of last week's to Jenny.
It has been sunny and we have been blessed with episodes of heavy rain. The temperature at 5pm is 4c but feels like 1c.
I have done some washing and most of it has dried now.
I was grateful to receive two parcels, chocolate mints and organic apricots. Both if eaten in moderation are healthy and the apricots can help to low blood pressure if three eaten daily.
The garden lawn is saturated and I walked very carefully on the lawn when filling the seed and mealworm feeders.
I am always glad to see the pigeons, starlings and blackbirds visiting the garden.
I hope you all have enjoyed a good Wednesday.
Thank you for yesterday's stars.
