Another mild day

It was cloudy this afternoon but the temperature was still above freezing, around +4 C. I decided to go for a walk along the Harbourfront Trail after work.  You get some nice views of the Halifax skyline from this trail. It is a paved walking/biking trail and it does get plowed and salted during the winter and with the melting that has been happening this week I knew that most of the icy spots should be gone.

I am not going to admit to Marilyn that I am going to be off work for most of March. MCA does have me down for one assignment during March, one hour a week for 3 weeks.

Marilyn called me tonight and talked for almost a half hour. She talks, I listen for the most part. Her cleaner who comes one morning, every second week, is going to miss a visit in March, as she is going away. It will be 4 weeks before she gets her house cleaned again. And her friend Terry who has been at her beck and call for the past 5 months has decided she can only come in once a week now. This may be a good time to really work on her and convince her to hire someone to come in once a week to do laundry, take garbage out, empty the kitty litter, and all the little things that she claims she cannot do. She had a hospital bed delivered 2 weeks ago, but she has not slept in it yet. Her cleaner told her that she needs to start using the bed and made her sit in it for a half hour when she was there. Marilyn claims that she cannot adjust the pillows herself so it is not comfortable.  And she got upset with her cleaner for telling her that she needs to start using the hospital bed. Wendy was smart enough to tell her that if she wants to stay in her home, then she will have to learn to start sleeping in a bed. I can see it coming, at some point someone will have to sit her down and tell her she has to learn to do things for herself and stop depending on others if she wants to stay in her house. And that person will likely end up being me.

One more day of relines!
