Easty/Westy Feet

It's been a beautiful warm day and I sat outside with Spike and his Kong, both of us soaking up the sunshine. One of the technicians at the vet we go to is the one who used the term easty/westy to describe Spike's turned out feet. I told my neighbor Cindy that they were like a basset's but she pointed to Hazel, her basset's feet and disagreed. Spike has short legs for a springer, but quite long compared to a basset hound's. His little toe is also on top of his foot.

John came back from the doctor declaring himself 'all better'. I asked him if she tested him and he said no. Then I asked him what she said about a sinus infection and he said he didn't ask about that. I must confess I lost it then since I thought that was the whole reason he went.
But he does seem to be feeling good and I  am happy about that. I'm a couple of days behind him, so I'm not quite ready to declare myself all better quite yet.

But sunshine does have remarkable curative powers and after an hour or so of soaking it up, admiring the weeds wildflowers that have appeared at the top of the hill, I was able to resurrect the star coat and put in one sleeve. Only one sleeve to go and it will be finished. I'm pleased to say that it does fit quite well...always a bit of a mystery with home made garments. I decided against buttons...too distracting and I don't want to try to make buttonholes through a quilted garment, so I ordered some giant snaps instead.

The sun is now setting at 6pm, a whole hour later than it was a couple of months ago and the clocks will go forward to Daylight Savings Time in another ten days or so giving us another hour. I wish we could just keep them year round but that is a question that will probably never be resolved. And given the current horror show in Washington right now,  totally irrelevant.

But I shall not go there today.
