My day

Wide Wednesday

Bob has set the challenge of an interesting building for today. I was walking up to the Election office Hub this afternoon through the old Tremain’s Mill site which operated from 1870s to 1980s. This used to be a produce store until about 20 years ago where you could buy grain or hens or bales of hay. The site has been converted to food and beverage, pub, luxury accommodation, retail arts and open space for different community events. I like the way the old exteriors are preserved.

I have the job of coordinating the letter boxing for the election. They want me to follow a similar system to the people doing door knocking. It’s all a bit complicated. This evening we had a meeting and I got a bit further along in how to do what they want (directed by people who know more than me so I am doing what they ask). Each area is divided up into street blocks with the houses marked. All very detailed information. Then I find out some people have taken 500 leaflets and started in an area of their choice. That is fantastic except I don't want to redo their areas and I don’t  have their contact details. One lady is super keen but when I gave her a map she said she couldn’t read. Deep breath!

Before lunch I accompanied Nina to Orange for an appointment. On the way home we stopped for a cuppa and I met an old nursing friend I hadn’t seen for ages. We exchanged phone numbers. It was good spending quality time with Nina.
