Pond dipping

Day 9

We woke up early, packed up in good time and left Zwolle behind us.

After a small diversion we had a mid-morning coffee and watched some young boys and an older woman swimming in this pond. We decided we had to have a dip - it was after all super hot and what's a holiday without some spontaneous swimming. It was luxuriously cool and refreshing. But too soon we were on our way again.

After lots of pedalling we eventually arrived in the Holge Veluwe national park where we found a nice shaded spot by the trees to put up our tent. We then borrowed some comfortable white bikes and went for a little ride to find some deer, which we did.

We headed back, only to find that our tent had become a haven for all sorts of insects and promptly decided to take it down and rebuild it elsewhere. For some reason I chose a kind of sloped ground which didn't ensure a great nights sleep but it was better than keeping those bugs company!
