Bentoya
Today I went into work - unusually for a Monday. The occasion was the final of the Operational Research Challenge that your group has put on for the past few years. It's a competition for undergraduates that we hoped would raise the profile of our Operational Research MSc programmes. Needing to cut expenditure, the School was only prepared to cover the cost of the prizes, so I agreed that HiGHS would cover the (greater) cost of travel expenses and lunch. After the three presentations, it was obvious which one was the best, but during the "deliberations", I gave a talk to the audience about HiGHS. After the winners were announced, I gave out HiGHS tee-shirts to the five finalists, and a couple of staff who asked, and photos were taken.
In the afternoon, I started to catch up with the members of the team who had missed out on the trip to Berlin. After work, I joined A at Mum's flat, and we came come. I had a nap, then walked Django; A had a shower then went to see friends for an hour. Then we drove into Edinburgh for dinner with daughter K at Bentoya, between "schooners" of decent beer at "The Hanging Bat".
