Busy

Today I began with a bit of programming, until it was time to have a shower and catch the bus into Edinburgh. There I met with my Year 3 student, before the hour with my class. Since I'd run out of motivational material, which hadn't motivated them anyway, I just offered to answer questions. These were exhausted after 20 minutes, at which point I said "Right! Early lunch!"

After lunch with colleagues, eating some of PhD student Y’s baked matcha cheesecake, I met with a former MSc student who had returned to give a guest lecture. He's a lovely guy, and it's great to keep in touch. In testing an example file for my Year 3 student, I got distracted by exploring the behaviour of the solver he's working on when applied to the example. I also engaged with the other three team members in the office, nipping out for a call with one of our clients who wanted to discuss the PhD that they will be funding, as well as learn about our trip to Berlin.

Back home, A had already gone out, so I cooked for myself, and took Django out. I spotted that Hodge was in the vicinity, walking Toby, and we ended up walking together for a couple of kilometres. Hence I caught up on the recent Turf news and, I "assisted" him to take 9 zones, bringing me up to 250 assists, for which there is a Turf medal.
