Day 6: Just floating around

Charlie woke up at 5am today. Ouch! Then he slept in (very) short bursts up until 8am when Robin woke up to play.

Unfortunately I was up half an hour later, awoken by a little shriek as Rob accidentally stepped on Charlie's hand as it was hidden under his play mat. We both panicked his fingers might be broken until Charlie started to smile through the tears at us playing with his fingers. Little scamp. He's such a trooper.

We kept an eye on his hand as we went to breakfast but he fed himself some banana, melon and toast and topped it off with his baby porridge so he seemed okay! We headed poolside and he had a short nap in his tent.

At lunch rob took him for a walk along the beach path in his buggy whilst I stayed poolside. I fell asleep on the lounger, under a brolly for a good 45 minutes - bliss!

Robin brought lunch back including a massive watermelon which was scrumptious. We ate on out balcony then took ourselves back poolside, alternating between a dip in the pool and lying down. This is the life.

We headed back to the room, bathed then fed Charlie and he fell asleep hard at 6:30pm and stayed asleep! Robin and I got ready, went to dinner, ate all three courses (plus a few 'seconds') all on our twosome as Charlie slept. Although its a parent's dream it felt very odd, but we enjoyed a few glasses of wine then did a walk along the promenade to the harbour and back. Charlie woke up on the way back- it might have been due to the abba tribute band we passed kicking into gangnam style!

We headed back to our room but Charlie was wide awake, so I just brought him into bed with us. He fed, then rolled over so his back was to me and rolled again so he's now perpendicular! Crazy boy. He's now on his front with his feet in my stomach snoozing! I think now is a good time to put him in his cot.
