I can't... quite...reach...

Wild comfrey makes for great tomato food - and it needs to be gathered at regular intervals during the summer. It is then stored in a container until it has broken down into a particularly smelly liquid. Only at this point can it be fed to the plants.

Although she has passed her 21st birthday several times now, my mum will go to amazing lengths to make this happen - even if it means she has to hang over a wall to get the ingredients. She's not at all impressed by my shop bought tomato food either!
