Sunset

After a long and emotional day we finally got home just as it was getting dark and I managed to grab a shot of the sunset clouds through the car window! Apologies for all the power lines across the image, the only chance for a photo today.

As far as it is possible for funerals to be good days…today was a good day. Arrangements worked well..a simple ceremony at the crematorium with a small group of family, friends and former work colleagues. There were a couple of lovely eulogies .. one from by Mrs madwill and her sister, read by the celebrant, and a fabulous one from brother in law’s best and oldest friend (they had known each other since primary school).

His best friend also chose some music which he knew would make brother in law smile . ‘Wish You Were Here’ for the arrival.. and ‘Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life’ for the departure. Mrs madwill also chose ‘Going Home’ the theme music from Local Hero..a film that was loved by her brother.

A gathering afterwards for a light lunch was quite a jolly affair..lots of laughter and fond memories.
