Pile up...

This shot really sums up my objection to the rental bike plague which has developed in recent years. They get dumped all over the place with seemingly no consideration for others. This little trio must have been blown over by the strong winds over night and form a delightful eyesore and obstruction for all pedestrians. The bikes are incredibly heavy and, I imagine, would be enough to cause serious injury if they fell on a child. I get that it's a well intentioned scheme, aimed at getting people to leave the car at home and get more exercise, but sadly it seems to have not factored in the worst aspects of basic human ignorance which lead some people to treat their environment and property they don't own with complete contempt.

The world is getting me down a bit at the moment, so I apologise for being so grumpy at the start of the week!
