Happiness...

This morning I woke up in a very peaceful lodge near the centre of the bustling city of Blantyre in Malawi!  I know the city well as I spent 10 years in Zomba, about an hours drive away and we used to go to Blantyre to buy provisions like cheese!!

Today I was with the ECD coordinator for Blantyre Synod, another sister Synod of our church.  She is on the left in the extra photo.  We visited about 5 different Community Based Childcare Centres (CBBC's) and at all of them found very happy children with some caregivers.  None of them had any play materials, but were doing rote learning - reciting after the teachers!  I encouraged the Coordinator to make materials using rubbish as they are sustainable and children learn so much through play!

We had a good day and I was tired in the evening and glad to get back to the lodge to rest!  Since I fell, I have had a sore back and by the end of the day it was very painful!  However, my wound is healing nicely so that is a positive!!
