After The Rain

The weather forecast for today wasn’t great. TT headed off to church, and I got organised for a flying visit to my mum and dad. It was quite nice here when we left, though very windy, and we had had a few showers. However the weather got much worse as we drove north.

It was raining heavily when we got to my mum and dad’s. They suggested we go out for a quick lunch. The roads around their village were flooded in places. We went to the cafe at a nearby nature reserve, and had lovely soup and toasties. We bought cakes to take home. The rain was going off when we left, but we decided against a walk as it was just too wet.

We just headed home, and TT struggled to set up my mum and dad’s new TV. I left them to it, and popped out for a walk. Amazingly the weather brightened up, but all the roads were very wet, as water had run off the fields, making the roads into rivers.

I got home to find them watching TV. Later we had tea, then enjoyed the cakes instead of pudding. TT and I then headed back home, and thankfully the weather had calmed down.

After the grim weather, it was great to see some blue sky late this afternoon. I also spotted this carpet of snowdrops.
