More hellebore

When we were in Tain at the end of January, there was really just one, or maybe two, hellebore flowers out. It's looking much better now, and I hope that the flowers carry on for some time as they did last year.

The garden does look a bit of a mess, because the beds are covered in leaves or weeds for the most part, but there really is no point devoting a lot of time and effort to clearing up right now.

I slept for a long time, and fairly well, although Fitbit gave me a somewhat equivocal score. I certainly felt better than last night. No swimming for me today. In any event, it was very windy and there were a lot of waves, from the pictures I've seen. A said she only paddled and didn't actually swim.

Mr A did most of the domestic stuff involved in leaving Tain. Running the washing machine; running the dishwasher; making something to eat (a rather delicious roasted vegetable soup). I mainly stayed on the sofa, saving myself for the drive. The drive went much much better than I expected, not least because the road was quiet. We were back here in 3 hours 30 minutes, including a quick stop for the toilet at Broxden Services. As is now usual, Mr A also boosts the heating and the water when we reach Perth, making for a much pleasanter evening in the flat. In fact, with the sun having been out, the flat is not cold at all.

I'm channeling another hot toddy and another early night. The week will be spent reserving energy for work obligations, which means giving up on social activities, which is a real bummer as I totally would like to see my book group friends, but I don't want to give them anything and I also need to conserve my limited energy....
