Farewell

I was sorting through some fabrics this afternoon and this jumped out . . . and I knew it had to be. 

I am not going to say much here - Kendall has said what needs to be said (see the Elephant on the Popular Page). Just to say - this community will not be the same for many Blippers now that Karen (NannaK) is no longer here. I have known her for so many years, have said hello every day . . . and now she’s gone.

But we all have memories - I will never forget the moment when, on our US road trip a few years ago, I messaged her from the hotel in Seattle to say - We’re  here. So come on round was the answer. So we did and what a wonderful welcome we got, and what a glorious few days we had in the company of Karen and Herb. And then miraculously a year later we were able to welcome them both to Cumbria. 

Karen was a good friend, we shared many interests (and sometimes non-interests - we used to laugh and say we were the non-gardening zone!!) It was a love of the work of Andy Goldsworthy that brought us together - what a joy it was to be able to take her to see the best one of all (see extra) 

And she loved elephants. So this is in memory of a remarkable lady and my friend. I will miss her, as will many others. But we also have to thank Blipfoto for enabling these friendships to blossom.
