A wet and windy day...

...much as the forecast suggested...

15 of us turned out for petanque anyway, and we managed an hour or so before the rain set in for the rest of the day ;) 

My thumbnail shows the five boules that Dave & I threw at the start of our second game. It was a good job we scored 5, as we'd been trounced 13-0 by Steve and Lynn in the first game! Believe it or not, we returned the compliment in the second game - they didn't get a look-in ;)

We were leading 2-0 in the third game when the rain started - you can see it driving across the terrain in the bottom photo of the collage - but we all decided to throw in the towel at that point, and it has remained wet and windy ever since!
