Purge Point

After a morning of domestic duties Mr Flum suggested taking advantage of the sunshine and returning to the Granton Gas Holder for more information. This time we found approved car parking nearby.

We did indeed visit, walked all the way round, took numerous photos, including the information boards but yesterday's temperature of 16°C was reduced to 11°C with a very cold wind and we did not tarry long.

None of the information boards explain the purpose of a Purge Point but Mr Flum assumes it is where filtered impurities in the incoming gas were run off. He may be totally wrong but it made an interesting picture.

While returning to the car I realised that most of my fingers had succumbed to Reynaud's syndrome and I was glad to be back in the warmth to thaw them out.
