(Not Quite) Twilight Walk

B and I joined an organised Twilight photography walk this afternoon in Sheringham Park.  It was a free event arranged by 'Norfolk Coast Protected Landscapes' as part of their annual 'Dark Skies' events which run from October to March.  The walk was led by a talented local environmental/nature photographer from Norwich. It wasn't twilight but that didn't matter in the least.

There were just 8 of us attendees and Rachel the photographer who led the walk gave us various subjects to look out for and photograph during the two hour walk, e.g. different colours, textures, looking up, shadows etc.  My main blip is my 'looking-up' photo.  We were very lucky that, after a gloomy overcast start, the sun came out and so not only did we enjoy some blue skies but also some soft sunlight which is catching the side of this beautiful Scots Pine which there are a number of in Sheringham Park.  The whole event was completely free of charge, Rachel, the two leaders from Norfolk Coast Protected Landscape and the other attendees who all so friendly and being a small group, we all chatted in-between taking photos.

After my yoga this morning and this delightful, mindful and creative walk this afternoon, I feel very chilled and privileged to have enjoyed such a wonderful day.

The extra is snowdrops, but very special snowdrops which were cultivated at Sheringham Park by the Upchers who lived at Sheringham Hall for over half a century.  This variety has much broader leaves than other snowdrops as well as being slightly taller.
