Tour de Treves

Fortification and dungeon built by Foulque Nerra - the Black Falcon and warlord of Anjou. Complete with modern conveniences. Spot the two protruding cabins on the higher levels of the tower but don't stand underneath them as they would have emptied straight out to ground level! The tower is now privately owned but is open once a year during the Journée de Patrimoine and it well worth the climb up to the roof the see the views out along the Loire.
