Submarine

My first time ever in a submarine, the Albacore, which is on display in Portsmouth, near the navy shipyard. It was a test submarine in the 50s and can now be visited.

To say it felt claustrophobic would be an understatement… for an idea of the scale, I added a couple of other pix in the extras. Apparently, serving on a sub is the only position within the US military that is a volunteer assignment — and even as such, the volunteers were led through gruesome drills and tests to make sure they’d not crack under pressure.
