Bit difficult getting up this morning. Alarm went off at 6, but I didn't get up until 7 with my back really playing up. Then I had to finish off the shopping list for the trip to Lidl. I use Google Tasks, so all 4 of us have access to the list.

With the kids being off school, it seems that eveything seems later than usual and generally our rythmn is around what they're up to. Needless to say neither of them came shopping with me.

I also had a heap of Vinted parcels to send. Some already went off via the lockers in the next village, which apart from having to go there, was effortless. The rest are via another carrier, so can be sent off from the local boulangerie. So after parking in Lidl's car park I wandered over to the there to drop off my parcels. It was the first time I'd used this service so didn't know what to expect. In the end, apart from the young girl in there being taken aback by me having 8 parcels to send, one wouldn't scan. Seems it'll have to go from the post office instead.
While there I took a baguette mélou 2 pain au chocolats and 2 croissants.

The shopping in Lidl was a bit uneventful. Just a lot to get, although I didn't spend as much as we did last week (Mme MB came with me then). Plus saved 5 euros on the Lidl card. The woman at the tills is, I think, the boss. She is always really nice and knows that I'm not French now. Perhaps my accent gives it away.

These jaunts are making me more confident when there is chitchat. I'm not very good at that in English, but at least if someone talks to me I generally reply with something understandable. While shopping I knocked over two things in the fridges, as they'd been badly put in there. Woman nearby said "You aren't very lucky are you?". To which I replied "Well, the boxes holding the articles aren't very deep and just fall over". That seemed to satisfy her and she wandered off.
Of course, some can be put off by my non-French accent and just walk away. It has happened a few times in the past. But you get rude people everywhere, I guess.
