Heavy Turbulence

Yesterday we had the sort of heavy turbulence when oxygen masks drop down. :(

MrQ had yet another fall and this time I couldn't get him up. My daughter visited as usual and the two of us couldn't get him up either. He was so weak that he was unable to help us. I phoned the doctor for advice as he was much more confused than he usually is and wheezy. She said to call an ambulance so that the paramedics to could get him up and that she would visit the following day.

The paramedics put an oxygen mask on him, said he had cold sepsis and took him to hospital. My daughter and I waited at the hospital until the consultant came to see us. He said that MrQ was suffering from aspiration pneumonia and that his life was in the balance.

My daughter and I visited MrQ on the ward at lunchtime today. We were stunned by how much better he seemed to be. I was very impressed by the care he is being given and by the information and explanations I have received from the nursing staff.

I found this oxygen mask on the TV table when I returned home.
