Who wrote the Book of Love
Funny ole day.
I did the salaries for hopefully the last time. (I was quite surprised to receive the file) ... But I did them, No qualms.
While I was working I was listening to "Now That's What I call Music", on the TV. 70's Classics. It said. oooh I was away I was young, vair very young, never been kissed kinda young.
First song which attracted my attention, Slik, forever and Ever.
I was 10. I got to go to their concert - in the Apollo, in Glasgow, with my sister who was 13, and my cousin supervising, she was 23. I still remember her sitting in her seat, arms folded, face like fizz, as we jumped up and down like lunatics.
I then got home, and ruined a perfectly good jumper, by sewing their names all over the back. I was in Love!
Slik, was followed by a range of songs, Romeo, Dancing on a Saturday night, Some Girls, Billy Don't be a hero, From NY to LA, Can't Give me love, Oh Lauri, Silver lady. Goodness.
It took me to a good place, and the salaries were done in record time.
After I finished up - we went to the Library, I finished my book last night, and needed a new one for tonight. Si went, list in hand. Have you tried the library search and reserve? Si is annoyed. He keeps ordering books, and then he gets an email saying the book is no longer available.
When you are reading 15 books in a series, (all about SAS, Fighting, Spies, Important Stuff), you need to have all the books. He said tonight, he was going to tackle them.
He was going to demand why he couldn' get books, why were Schools being listed, but not sharing the books, Why didn't they have all the books in a series.
I politely asked him to wait til I had got my book. As we got closer, I said, "Tell you what, pretend you aren't with me".
We walked in, I handed my book back, and he followed me up and while I scoured for my book, I could hear him.
I was pleasantly surprised. He didn't go in full guns blazing. he took the "can you help me approach".
By the time I had collected three books, he and the librarian were on good terms. Trying different searches, as different people, and remarking on the daftness of the system.
There was no resolution. He's going to write to the "Head Librarian" with his concerns.
Oh deary me.
