Food for Thought

We had breakfast and got ready to head out for the day. With snow in the forecast, I asked hubby to drive. Since last night, I noticed my sinuses are clogged, resulting in a dull headache. It has gotten steadily worse all day. I am sure the weather is partly to blame. It is only 23°F at 3:00 pm; it was colder earlier and will just get a bit warmer tomorrow afternoon. My energy level is at its lowest. I got my new crown and the dental assistant was able to adjust the tooth and the metal on my partial so everything “fit”. There is still a rough edge that I am not happy about. Hubby and I shopped at the hardware store for a few stocking stuffers at bargain prices. I think the recipients will find their gifts useful. Hubby wanted to stop at the library. We received a notice that we can get free flu a/b and COVID home test kits there. I looked around their garden and photographed a different sculpture than I blipped before. I like this one. We went to the local country cafe for lunch. I really needed comfort food and found it: Salisbury steak with sautéed onions and gravy, mashed potatoes and collard greens. We had a few other items to pick up and then I went home to the recliner with my Kindle and cup of tea. My head has said no to reading for the moment. Our big storm is a big letdown. We’ll be lucky if we get 2”. The folks in Virginia are getting enough for both of us. Hope people will be sensible and stay out of it if possible. We’ve already received notification about accidents. Hubby can heat dinner later and fill the bird feeders for me. I am down for the count and thankfully have no place to go until Saturday Mass. Sure hope it is just a winter cold. Wishing you good health. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting. “Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body and prayer is to the soul.” - Matthew Kelly
