Capturing my Journey

Afternoon sunshine

Up to -4c today. Managed a trip to the post office to pick up two parcels. I also picked up a big bag of soil for starting seeds. I learned a little something about nervous system regulation today. I am fully aware my nervous system is not regulated at the moment at least not all the time. However why our dogs help us when we feel this way is through co regulation they help us to calm and regulate our nervous system as they are great at rebalancing their nervous system and some better than others. Breagh being one such dog whose presence always helped me to feel more calm and confident and perhaps another reason that this has felt harder to navigate without her. Thankfully Dris, Callan and my husband are also good at this. Anyway more understandings of the way life feels for now. Surprised by the amount of sadness still moving through me.

“The weird, weird thing about devastating loss is that life actually goes on. When you're faced with a tragedy, a loss so huge that you have no idea how you can live through it, somehow, the world keeps turning, the seconds keep ticking.” - James Patterson
