Church of St. John the Baptist, South Carlton

Blurb later...

We were a bit late up today. Everything got done eventually though.

We decided to take a drive out into the sticks to look for scenery, and we found this pretty church in the incredibly affluent, tiny village of South Carlton. There has been a church there since the 12th century, but it was virtually entirely rebuilt in 1859 by S.S. Teulon.

We didn't go inside the church, though a sign said it was open. It contains a spectacular Mausoleum belonging to the Monson family, who still own and live in their ancestral Baronial mansion in the village... We will have to pop back to take photos inside sometime.

This morning I received a new credit card as mine runs out of date next month. The new one is dated from this month though so I have set it up  and activated it by buying a few things from Aldi on the way home. It worked, so the old one has now gone through the shredder!

In the gap between posting this and writing up the blurb I did some cleaning and tidying of my yoga room, which would have been done this morning if I'd been up earlier.
