Adventure sledging on the field

The visitors have learned from their experiences sledging on a short run in the garden. Now they've moved into the field next door, the sledging run goes down the middle of the field while the walk back to the top is along the edge of the field. No more treading on the track!
You get a rather nice view of our homestead from the field too.
I've been down ther new run once and found it exhilarating, and not a little frightening. When you are travelling at full speed a cloud of snowy, icy spray forces you to close your eyes. Oh, what fun! The three and five-year-old both think it wonderful, sometimes going down with a parent, sometimes on their own. They are now wearing helmets!
Fortunately, since the forest was chopped down there are no large trees to collide with, so it's mostly "apparent danger" rather than "real danger".
A bit later in the day we took a walk into the forest, following our snowshoe trail which was mostly hard enough to support us even without the snowshoes.
Another great day, but we are all feeling very tired after another day of fresh air and action!
