Staus: Founders of their mendiant Order of Friars. They practiced solitude, penance and prayer. They devoted themselves to the seven sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

This Monday I did some washing. I listened to Holy Mass online from St Marie's Cathedral in Sheffield. I stayed home because it was very cold. There was ice in the bird bath that needed hot water to melt the thick pieces of ice. It was 2c but felt like minus 3c at 9:45am.

I am continuing to read The Glories of Mary by Saint Alphonsus de Liguori. It is a lovely revelatory God respecting book and it leads me to realise how having Mary as our Heavenly Mother, is a magnificent gift from God. When we respectfully invoke her help, the spiritual atmosphere shifts miraculously. It is unique for each individual how this happens. Demons flee. Belief and humility and sorrow for sins, are key aspects of the unity with Christ and Mother Mary. It is all about taking time to pray from the heart, for trustworthy Godly guidance and then being faithful to that guidance.
All the Marian Apparitions point toward living prayerfully, loving God, fasting, saying rosaries and genuine prayers, and aiming for a life of goodness and service to God in a world that needs our devotion to Jesus and Mary as a barrier against the sins and temptations of the Satanic influences. It can be very difficult but worthwhile.
The swan in today's photo was from a charity shop when Rishton used to have such a kind shop. Sadly the wing broke. Paul kindly superglued it and for that I am consoled and grateful.
Thank you for looking at my photo and reading the journal if you do. Thank you also for the kind stars, yesterday.
